On July 13, 2011, one of the world’s biggest and most successful movie franchises will come to an end.

A culmination of over 10 years of film history will be finalised forever, with fans the world over hanging up their wands and preparing to say goodbye to Harry Potter and friends, in the most spectacular and highly anticipated series finale ever.

In possession of the Elder Wand Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), believing he finally has what he needs to put an end to Harry Potter and his band of do gooders for ever, launches his final attack on Hogwarts.

Meanwhile, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) have been trusted to find and destroy the last of the Horcruxes to hopefully end the Battle of Hogwarts and Lord Voldemort’s evil reign forever.

Well, what an ending. Director David Yates has successfully closed the book on the final chapter of Harry Potter with a visually stunning and masterful piece of movie making that will live on in our hearts forever. Yates has managed to encapsulate the books theme’s of war, love, family and sacrifice in a fun filled action packed ending that will have you sobbing, laughing and jumping up from your seat as all the wonders of your imagination are brought to life.

You don’t have to be a fan though or even have read any of JK Rowling’s literary series to absolutely LOVE this film – it’s a stunning fantasy film that stands on its own and will have even the most reluctant of Potter fans absolutely engrossed.

The film’s stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint should also be commended. The once child actors, have now grown into highly capable, confident movie stars who are proving each day that they’ll be able to shed their Harry Potter type cast and continue to have long successful careers.

This film though is simply amazing. I’m not ashamed to say I cried in the touching moments, clapped for joy when Neville wielded the Sword of Gryffindor and laughed out loud when FINALLY Ron and Hermione had that much anticipated pash.

Despite some of the more corny moments of dialogue, this really is a freakin’ brilliant film.

Whilst this is the end of the Potter series, I hope it’s not the end of original stories that inspire a generation of children and their parents – the world needs more great story tellers like JK Rowling…this reviewer will be shedding a tear for the end of a remarkable decade in film making.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, delivers everything…it was very much worth the 10 year wait.
